Kevin O’Keefe | Secretary-General

Kevin is a Junior from Scituate MA majoring in Chemistry. Starting as a freshman in highschool, he has enjoyed MUN for the past six years. When not helping with CIRA, Kevin enjoys swimming, running, and is a member of Alpha Chi Sigma, a professional fraternity for those pursuing a career in the chemical sciences. Kevin worked as a staffer for MUNCH XXIII, chaired the JCC Reconquista committee for UNCMUNC XIV, Chaired for Revolutionary France for UNCMUNC XV, and as Director of Communications for MUNCH XXIV. He is excited for another amazing MUNCH!

Christopher McClanahan | Director- General

Christopher is a Junior from Charlotte majoring in Computer Science. He serves as Chair of the Rules and Judiciary Committee in the UNC Undergraduate Senate. He is part of CIRA’s collegiate Model UN travel team, and also is involved in the Campus Affairs branch.

Mary Abi-Karam | Senior Advisor

Mohamed Abdelsalam | Director of Communications

Moe is a Junior from Greenville, NC, majoring in Political Science and Peace, War, and Defense with a minor in Public Policy. Within CIRA, he serves as the Deputy Chair for UNCMUNC XV and contributes as a writer for the Journal of Foreign Affairs. On campus, Moe is actively involved in various research-oriented clubs and publications, such as The Policy Network, Carolina Undergraduate Law Association, and the Environmental Finance Center at UNC. Additionally, he is currently working with professors on research projects aimed at getting published. Outside of his academic life, Moe enjoys outdoor activities with friends, exploring new places to eat, and, most importantly, supporting Carolina Athletics.

Maggie Jenkins | Chief of Staff

Maggie is a junior majoring in Business Administration and Public Policy. She started participating in Model UN during her freshman year of high school. Since then, she has competed in many different GAs and crisis-style committees. As a UNC student, she has served as a Chair, Crisis Director, and Under Secretary General for conferences hosted on campus. Outside the committee room, she enjoys spending time on the quad with friends, listening to podcasts, and going to concerts. Maggie is very excited about MUNCH and looking forward to making this the best one yet!

Lindsay McRae | USG - Crisis

Lindsay is a sophomore from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is majoring in history with a focus on global relations and diplomatic history during the Cold War, with a minor in philosophy. In addition to the MUNCH Secretariat, she serves as vice head delegate for CarolinaMUN, UNC’s travel Model UN team, where she competes on the circuit in crisis committees; as well as serving as the Co-Crisis Director of UNCMUNC XV’s Ad Hoc committee. Outside of Model UN, she enjoys going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and learning how to play new instruments. She is looking forward to MUNCH XXV and excited to be in charge of crisis this year!

Case Maddox | USG GAPs

Case is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration and Chinese, with a minor in Russian. He started participating in Model UN during his freshman year of high school in a double delegation with his brother. Since then, he has competed in many different GAs, GAPs, and crisis-style committees (including a 24-hour committee!). As a UNC student, he has served as Chair, CarolinaMUN delegate, and JFAC writer, recently winning Honorable Delegate for the UNEP GA at William & Mary! Outside the committee room, he enjoys time on the quad studying, listening to music, and going to the movies! Case is very excited about MUNCH and looking forward to making this the best one yet!

Colson Grimes | USG- GAs

Colson is a Junior from Chapel Hill, NC majoring in History and Public Policy, with a minor in French.  He has been involved with MUN since middle school, but this will be his first time on MUNCH Secretariat.  Colson enjoys Carolina athletics, spending time outdoors, and reading.  Colson is currently preparing an honors thesis on language selection amongst native populations in former French colonies.  As Under Secretary General of General Assemblies, Colson is more than excited to meet delegates from across the state and make MUNCH XXV the best yet!

Ruby Cain | USG-Crisis

Ruby is from Amherst, MA, and is a junior at NC State majoring in Construction Engineering. She has been involved in MUN for 7 years and enjoys competing in crisis committees. Last year she chaired the Island of Mr. E ADHOC for MUNCH XXIV and crisis directed Save Mii for UNCMUNC XV. Outside of MUN Ruby enjoys reading, doing yoga, writing letterboxd reviews, completing woodworking projects, and cheering on the Wolfpack. She is so excited to meet all of the delegates and have an amazing MUNCH!

Jared Little | Director of Design and Operations

Jared is a junior, born in New Haven, Connecticut, but raised in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He is majoring in Medical Anthropology and Peace, War, And Defense with a concentration in international security and intelligence. He started participating in Model UN during his sophomore year of high school and subsequently joined CIRA as a UNC student, during his sophomore year. He is a member of CarolinaMUN, where he traveled as far as Toronto, competing in the circuit in primarily crisis committees. He is currently the Co-Crisis Director of UNCMUNC XV’s Gossip Girl-themed committee and has staffed UNCMUNC XIV and MUNCH XXIV. Outside of MUN, Jared enjoys watching Carolina Athletics with his fraternity brothers or listening to his favorite,

Unai Cuerdo Agirre | Director of Delegate Affairs

Unai is a junior studying mathematics and statistics and minoring in history. He became involved with Model United Nations from the very first day in CIRA, and chaired for the first time for MUNCH XXIII. Unai has also chaired and ACd for UNCMUNC as well as attended conferences with the travel team, and is the Director of Campus Affairs for CIRA, where he organized many events to spread out the word about CIRA and welcome new members to the family!! Outside of CIRA and MUN, Unai enjoys swimming and learning about mathematics and computer science, and is involved in the swim club and the Math Club at UNC.

Shreya Hansalia | Director of Web Services

Shreya is a sophmore political science and economics and minoring in women’s and gender studies. She became involved in Model United Nations as a freshman in High School, and she served as co-chair for the European Court of Human Rights committee at MUNCH last year. In addition to MUN, Shreya enjoys reading, embriodery, and spending time with friends. She is excited for this year’s conference!
